The reason I needed to go here was to get ingredients to make Mexican Street corn. The corn on cob was extremely fresh as was the cilantro. One of the guys who worked there was very helpful to show me where the crema was but did not know what Cotija cheese is. He asked another coworker who tried to help who told me to get some kind of fresh cheese which I immediately knew was not Cotija cheese. I looked around the cheese area and finely found it! Overall, I found this market to be decent for finding mexican food ingredients.

Had a chance to come back here because I heard they were serving cooked food on the weekend in the back of the store. Empanada's we're different style then I'm used to with Mexican string cheese and jalapeños, but delicious, wife liked the self serve Chicharons (cooked pork). Had to take off a star because the servers had an attitude like they were annoyed for helping customers. Parking lot gets crazey be careful as customers drive like they don't care.

Well stocked Latin grocery. I pretty much live on Mexican, Cuban and Salvadoran food, and I travel 40 miles every month to stock up here. Tomatillos, epizote greens, chayote squash, plantains, all kinds of hot peppers, strong white onions -- all fresh and in great shape, unlike the stock (if you can find it) at mainstream grocery stores. They also sell corn tortillas with NO preservatives, which taste and smell way better than your typical packaged tortillas and warm up tender and flaky as pastry. They have fresh string cheese and queso fresco, as well as a wonderful meat department with a variety of fresh and cured sausages, usually some type of barbacoa to take home, and excellent pork. They have chicken and beef too, though I haven't tried them yet, and even goat. Their range of pantry staples is what you'd expect, but more varieties and sizes. I was overjoyed to find the large bottles of mojo criollo and bitter orange for marinades. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. The one disappointment I found there, which cost them a star, was the crazy high price on Nido full-fat dried milk, which is imported from Mexico, but can be obtained at half the price at Walmart or Amazon. If you cook South American food and want ingredients you can't find in your local supermarket, take a trip to Poughkeepsie to this specialty market You won't be sorry. Those preservative-free tacos are worth the trip all by themselves.
